The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is an annual event held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada since 1975. Starting with fewer than 200 runners in 1975, it has grown exponentially to over 40,000 runners who participate in the various races every year making the Ottawa race weekend the largest marathon event in Canada
The Ottawa Marathon is categorized as a Gold Label Road Race by World Athletics and is a Boston Marathon qualifier and is also home to the Canadian Marathon Championships and the Canadian Forces Marathon Championships
The 2020 and 2021 editions of the race were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

*The Ottawa 10K presented by Otto’s Ottawa serves as the Canadian 10K Championships. To qualify for Canadian 10K Championship prize money, the athletes must be Canadian citizens, members of Athletics Canada, and registered as elite runners.

Points to Note for Prize Purse

All values are in CAD $, including the Open Prize Purse for the Tartan Homes Ottawa International Marathon.
All prize money is restricted to the athletes in the elite field unless indicated otherwise.
All prize money will be awarded based on gun time.
All awards are equal for male & female runners

Important Points

- - Aid stations: Water/Nuun stations are set up approximately every 3K. Xact Nutrition (in a mix of strawberry, apricot and orange flavours) is also available at selected aid stations.
  - Bib collection: Someone else can pick up the race kit at the Health and Fitness Expo on the participants behalf OR runner can purchase the Premium Race Kit Pick Up option which allows race kit pick up on Sunday,
  - Cancellation: During registration the runner has an option to purchase cancellation insurance through RegSheild.
    The fee structure of this policy is calculated as a percentage of your race fees.
  - Facilities: Cooling and misting stations are available on-course along with Portable toilets at every water station. Full medical services on the route and at the finish line.
  - Non permissible items: With the exception of the Ottawa 2K, baby joggers and strollers are not permitted. Backpack child carriers are not permitted on any Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend courses.
  - Pacers are available for both continuous running as well Run/Walk
  - Registration Transfer: Person-to-person transfer of registrations is not allowed. Transfer to shorter or longer distance is allowed after payment of fee difference, transfer fees & taxes
  - Tracking: A free mobile app is available to aid both runners & spectators. Please read about it and download the app here
  - Time limit applicable on the course for after which the course is thrown open to normal traffic
    – Full Marathon –7 hrs
