Deccan Ultra race is an annual trail race organized in Deccan region of India. It is a challenging trail run, held within the Sahyadri Range.
While the race offers mesmerizing views of the Deccan Plateau, it also has a very diverse terrain ranging from rocky vertical faces to forested slopes. The Deccan Ultra course includes the highest peak of Maharashtra, Kalsubai at an altitude of 1646m and also the toughest triple-trouble forts in Sahyadri; Alanggad, Madangad and Kulanggad, commonly called the AMK. To climb the near-vertical slopes there are iron ladders along the course.
The Deccan Ultra offers a mix of Ultra races and shorter distances. The Ultra races include distances of 161 KM, 115KM, 80KM and 55KM while the shorter distances are 35KM, 21KM, 10KM and 3KM. Of these, the 161km, 115km and 80km category circulates around the vast Bhandardara dam, the Windmill mountain top and involves climbing 5 forts and the Kalsubai peak.

# For Deccan Ultra 2025, the below Time Eligibility criterion was applicable. Races run after 01-Jan-2024 will only be considered as a qualifying race for Deccan Ultra 2025.
1. 161K & 115K: Participant must have completed an Ultra marathon (atleast 100KMs) with a minimum elevation gain of 3000m within the cut-off specified by the organizers of that race.
2. 80K: Participant must have completed an Ultra marathon (atleast 60KMs) with a minimum elevation gain of 1000m within the cut-off specified by the organizers of that race.
3. 55K: Participant must have completed a Full Marathon in 05:00Hrs or any Ultra Marathon within the cut-off time prescribed by the organizers of the race. For 12hr runs like stadium runs, one must have atleast run 50kms..

Important Points
1.Timing cut off: All races have a cut off time limits as follows: 161KM (33 hrs), 115KM (24hrs), 80KM (18 hrs), 55KM (11 hrs), 35KM (7 hrs), 21KM (6 hrs) and 10KM (3 hrs).
2. Mandatory gear: Ultramarathon runners need to mandatorily carry hydration bag, minimum calorie requirements in form of gels, bars, chews, etc, head torch, whistle, Mobile phone, trail running shoes & socks, GPS watch, head band/covering, and photo ID card.
3. Aid stations: Water & electrolytes would be available at all aid stations. Lemon/ salt, oranges, dates, candies, boiled potatoes, etc would also be available at limited aid stations. There would also be recovery zones with food options like khichdi, bread, peanut butter, dal, bananas, etc
4. Cancellation & Refunds:
# Any cancellation before 60 days will be eligible for a 100% refund of the registration fee.
# Any cancellation between 60-45 days will be eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fee.
# Any cancellation between 44-30 days will be eligible for a 25% refund of the registration fee.
# Any cancellation between 30-0 days will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.
