The TCS World 10K race, certified by AIMS, was inaugurated in the year 2008 and is held annually every year in the month of May in Bengaluru.

The TCSW 10K is a World Athletics Elite Label Road Race that engages runners of all ages and abilities with extensive involvement from the local community. TCSW 10K has had a massive & phenomenal influence on people in Bengaluru by promoting an active lifestyle and encouraging a running culture. Over the years, this event has actually started a running revolution in the city.

Organized by Procam International, the event is also one of the largest sporting philanthropy platforms in South India having raised an impressive INR 46.04 crores since its inception. It is also one of the richest races with a total prize pot of US$170,000 and race winners receive over $21,000. Significant prizes are also offered to the best Indian competitors and teams.

No live event was held in 2020 and 2021 through the Virtual version was launched.

** Anyone with the following disabilities can apply under the CWD category – Have physical/locomotor disability, Intellectual impairment, Visual impairment, Hearing impairment, Orthopedic or neurological disorder.
# For Champions with Disability Buddy, the age requirement is 18 years & above and Fees is INR 175/USD 5.

@ For Open 10K, the below Time Eligibility criterion was applicable in 2024
Must have participated in Marathon, 25k, Half marathon, 10K, or 5K on or after 1st May 2022 with the following eligibility criterion.

  • 6:54:00 hrs or faster in a Full Marathon
  • 3:58:00 hrs or faster in a 25k run
  • 3:18:35 hrs or faster in a Half marathon
  • 1:30:00 hrs or faster in a 10K
  • 0:45:00 hrs or faster in a 5K

Prize Money

For the TCS World 10K:

  1. The top 10 men & women (Elite) and the top 10 men & women (Indian) get cash rewards.
  2. Additional cash rewards are presented for event bonuses to both Elite & Indian runners.
  3. All prizes are equal for Men and Women and based on Gun time.

For the TCS Open 10K:

1.The top 3 men & women in each age category (15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & 70+) get cash rewards as mentioned below

2. Additionally, the top 3 men’s & women’s teams are eligible for Police cup cash rewards. These teams can only comprise personnel from Bangalore Police. Cash rewards are mentioned below

Important Points

  1. Limited running slots are also reserved for women and charity.
  2. Pacers would be available for the Open 10K race.
  3. Line up section for Open 10K dependent on race timings submitted.
  4. Group registration is available for a minimum of n=20 runners registering together- available only for Majja 5K, CWD, and Sr. Citizens’ run.
  5. Water, energy drinks, orange & salt, and other refreshments would be available on the route/course. Water and refreshments are available to all runners post-race finish.
  6. Medical and washroom facilities would also be available on the route/course.

Procam Slam

Procam Slam is a running program that recognizes and rewards amateur runners for their devotion and hard work if they participate in all key Procam International-sponsored running events.

In order to become a Procam Slam Champion, a runner must finish four feature races within the specified time limit. These are listed below:

  • TCS World 10K Bengaluru: The 10k race in under 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Delhi Half Marathon: The Half Marathon in under 3 hrs 30 minutes.
  • Tata Steel Kolkata 25K: The 25K run in under 4 hrs.
  • Tata Mumbai Marathon: The full marathon in under 6 hrs 30 minutes.

Key points

  • To begin with his/her Procam Slam Cycle, a runner can take part in one of the above-mentioned.
  • Procam events and then run the three Procam-sponsored distance running events that follow.
  • The Procam Slam Cycle will be considered complete if the runner completes all four consecutive races.
  • One would need to restart the cycle in case a race is missed. Then the runner must run all four Procam running events in a row without stopping.

  1. Sir,
    This is a suggestion:
    It would be nice if a 15KM run category is introduced in TCS marathon @ Bangalore.
    There were about 13,000 runners in 10KM category last year. I am sure at least about 5000 people may consider upgrading themselves to 15KM if introduced. Graduating from 10KM to 21KM is a herculean task for many to start.

    Appreciate if you could convey to the authorities concerned with TCS run event @ Bangalore.
