Southern Cross Round the Bays is an annual race held in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, New Zealand since 1972. It is New Zealand’s largest run which has grown exponentially over the year from 1200 participants in first year to over 34,000 participants now. The course is 8.4km long, flat and follows the Waitematā Harbour’s coastline.

Date & Timings: Mar 5 (12pm -7pm ~corporate teams only), Mar 6 (8am – 7pm ~all participants) & Mar 7 (8am – 4pm ~all participants)

Important Points

  • Free event shuttles available from The Parade, Vallenoweth Green and from Melanesia Road, Madills Farm to start line at Commerce Street. Return shuttles from Long Drive to Britomart and from Melanesia Road, Madills Farm to Britomart
  • Bag drop facility available. Bags can be dropped off at start line (corner of Quay & Tangihua Street) or at finish line (Vallenoweth Green) before boarding shuttle
  • Aid stations: There would be aid stations located along the course providing water, portable toilets and medical facilities
  • Not permissible: No pets, bicycles, scooters, hand cycles, skates, skateboards or roller blades are permitted. No drones, poles or sharp objects
  • Hospitality packages are available
  • Time limit applicable. The course would be open to traffic after 12:15pm
