Utah, USA | June 6-7, 2025 | Registration Open |
The Utah Valley Marathon – an annual marathon is a USATF-certified Boston Qualifier race that takes place in Northern Utah. While the inaugural run was held in April 2008, the race was shifted to the second Saturday of June (till 2018) and thereafter to the first Saturday of June (since 2019). The race is associated with 4 main charities – CharityVision, Mentor’s International, Mac’s Gift, and Road to Success.
Various Distances/Events offered during the race are as follows:
- Kids 1km Fun Run (Total Slots 1600)
- Friday 5K Run (Total Slots 2000)
- 10K Run (Total Slots 1200)
- Half Marathon (Total Slots 2500 + 50)
- Marathon (Total Slots 2000 + 50)
- Triple Medal Challenge
Utah Valley Kids 1K Fun Run is designed for children under 12 years and offers them a unique experience to run to the finish line lined with cheering spectators. The run is sponsored by Central Bank and is free for all children who register for it. It is a non-timed run in which parents can choose to run with their kids (as long as the kids are registered).
The 10k, Half Marathon & Marathon are held on the same day – Saturday and take the runners through a scenic Utah valley route ending at the same point within the city.
The 5k run is held the day before on Friday giving people a chance to run the Triple Medal challenge. Triple Medal Challenge requires the runners to run the 5k on Friday followed by any one of the following 3 races on Saturday – 10k/HM/FM.
For Traffic considerations, starting in 2013, the marathon course was modified with runners running against traffic (with barricaded traffic lanes). This allowed for smoother traffic flow at Highway 222 and U.S. Route 189 intersections.
