The Bodh Gaya Marathon, initiated in the year 2024, is an annual event held in the sacred town of Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India, renowned as the place where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. The marathon is organized by the Bodhgaya Marathon Committee (BMC) in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), with event management by Thrill Zone.
The event offers multiple race categories to accommodate various fitness levels: a full Marathon, a half Marathon, 10 Km Timed Run and a 5 Km Dhamma Run (Non-Timed). All timed routes are AIMS certified, ensuring adherence to international standards
The marathon route passes significant landmarks, including Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjana river, Sujata village and Dungeshwari mountain

Full Marathon & Half Marathon: The top 3 males and 3 females in Marathon and Half Marathon will be rewarded with cash prizes. In addition, age category awards (top 3 in each category) would be given only Trophies & Certificates. No cash prizes for age category winners
10 KM: Top 3 male & female runners would be awarded. No Age Category awards
5 KM: Top 3 male & female runners would be awarded. No Age Category awards

Important Points
- Non-Transferable Registration: Registrations with discounted rates are non-transferable. The registered participants must use the BIB assigned to them.
- No On-Spot Registration: On-spot registrations will not be available. Participants must register in advance to secure their participation.
- Cancellation: No cancellations or refunds are entertained
- Customized BIBs: To receive a customized Bib with your name, please make sure to register at least 15 days before the event date.
- BIB Collection: If someone is collecting Bibs on behalf of other participants, they must present a consent letter from the registered participants in order to receive the Bibs. No Bib collection on event/ race day
- BIB Exchange: Participants are not allowed to exchange their timing Bibs with others.
- Baggage Counter: There will be a baggage counter available at the venue for participants to store their belongings securely.
- Medical Support: Ambulances will be stationed along the route, and a dedicated medical team will be present at the venue and at multiple points along the route. Also there will be dedicated medical aid stations equipped with medical professionals and supplies to attend to any participant in need of assistance along the race route.
- Aid Stations : Hydration points will be available at regular intervals of 1-2.5 kilometers to provide participants with Hydration support. In addition to hydration points, energy stations will be strategically placed along the route, offering participants energy gels, fruits, or other nutritional supplements to support their performance during the race.
- Washroom Facilities: Washrooms will be accessible at the start/finish area and along the route for participants’ convenience.
- Post-Race Refreshments: After crossing the finish line, participants will have access to post-race refreshments.
- Time Limits: Time limits are applicable: Marathon (6hrs 30min), Half Marathon (3hrs 30min) and 10Km (2 hrs)
