The Bangkok Marathon (also known as BDMS Bangkok Marathon ) is a marathon held annually in Bangkok, Thailand, since 1987.
In 1987, the marathon was held in honor of the king’s 60th birthday and helped launch a running boom in Thailand. The course passes many historical landmarks of cultural and ethnic importance. The race course is sanctioned by The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Amateur Athletic Association of Thailand (IAAF Rules).
Along with full and half marathons, 10 km and 5 km races were also held.

The overall winner (male & female) will receive a Royal trophy of honor as well as below mentioned prize money. Those who break the course record also get awarded cash prizes

- Registration: Entry is non-refundable. Entry is non-transferable to another competitor. Entry is non-transferable to next year’s competition.
- Aid stations will be placed throughout the course.
- Baggage check in available.
- Bib Collection: Runners must show a photo ID to pick-up your race packet.
- Time limits: There are time limits applicable (see below).

This is my first time taking part in running competitions in another country.
Please tell me, will the starting number be available on the night of the launch?
And do I need something other than a passport?

Addressing your first query, please note that the starting numbers would be available for 2 days prior to the race day i.e. on 14th Nov & 15th Nov (more details listed below)
Venue: Bravo BKK, Rama 9, near RCA Alley, Floor 1
Date & Timings: Nov 14 (10am-7pm) & Nov 15 (10am – 4pm)
They will not be available just prior to race start at night (the expo ends by early evening on Nov 15)
As for your second query regarding the documentation required for race number pick up, most races require a photo ID card (for which your passport should be sufficient) as well as the race confirmation email shared by the organizers. But I would also advise you to contact the race organizer at the below email ID to confirm if any other documentation is required — the email ID is njatbkk@gmail.com
