Established in 1997, the Bridge to Brisbane is an annual race held in Brisbane, Australia towards end August. The event offers two distances – a 10km race and a 4.5km race
While the first race had fewer than 5000 entrants, the race has grown exponentially and had 45000 participants in 2009. The 2022 event had a cap of 30,000 runners. The Bridge to Brisbane race raises funds for various charities and also supports local schools

Expo Details  Venue: Building 8, Alexandria Park, on the corner of Alexandria Lane and Gregory Terrace, RNA Showgrounds, Bowen Hills.
Date & Timings: Sep 5 – 6 (8am -6pm) & Sep 7 (8am -2pm) (No Kit collection on race day)

*** Fees is time sensitive i.e. will go up as we get closer to race date. Early bird pricing is available.

Important Points

  • Race fees:
    -The race fees includes race entry, event t-shirt, race number, event timing, finishers’ certificate, a finishers’ medal and public transport to and from the event.
    -The entry fee of participants aged under 15 years includes a $5 donation to their nominated school charity
    -Entry for children in prams are free
  • Refunds: No refunds unless it is a result of government enforced directives related to COVID-19. However, if participant is unable to make it on the day, they can transfer their entry to another person by contacting the Help Desk.
  • Change of distance: Chosen distance can be modified by emailing info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au. If changing from 4.5k to 10k participant needs to call the race office on 1300 55 55 77 to do a manual payment of pre-specified amount.
  • Virtual race option is available.
  • Wheelchair: Any participants wishing to compete with an everyday wheelchair must enter into the Grey Walker Start Zone (for 10K) OR Pink Walker Start Zone (For 4.5K). No day wheelchairs are permitted in any other start groups. If they would like to compete in a Race Wheelchair, they need to enter the Blue Elite start zone (for 10K) OR Purple Elite start zone (For 4.5K) and email info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au to request to be moved into the Elite Wheelies start zone.
  • Companion Cards: If the participant wishes to have a companion card and require a support worker to complete the event with them, please email info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au with a copy of the companion card and organizers will provide a discount code for the support worker’s free entry.
  • Bib collection: If entered before the postage cut-off date and selected the postage option in the registration process, the race number will be sent to the valid Australian address provided during the entry. If participant did not select the postage option entry, they will need to collect their Race Kit from the Race Office during opening hours.
  • Pacers are available for both 10K and 4.5K races
  • 10K Start zones: Participants’ allocated zone is displayed on the back of race bib (zone will correspond to the colour of bib).
  • Sporting Wheelies: Qualification Required
  • 4.5K Start zones: Participants’ allocated zone is displayed on the back of race bib (zone will correspond to the colour of bib).
    -Purple Elite Qualification required: 2021 B2B results or equivalent distance event <20min
    -Orange Run Under 30min
    -Aqua Jog Under 45min
    -Pink Walk Over 45min
  • Change of Zone: If entered before postage cut off or have selected to pick up their race number at the Race Office, please contact Help desk to make the change. If participant would like to change into a qualifying start zone they will need to provide proof of their time from a previous Bridge to Brisbane or another officially timed event. If participant has already received their race bib in the post, they will need to bring their coloured race number to the Race Office during opening hours so that the change can be made and new bib issued.
  • Joggers, walkers and those walking with prams or wheelchairs should assemble at the rear of their zone.
